Assist with the transportation of food and other items, both picking them up and delivering them to various locations in Regina. This includes tasks like loading and unloading vehicles, potentially using hand trucks or other equipment, and ensuring food safety during transport.
You can change a child’s life by being a mentor. Being a Mentor means being a friend and role model. It’s about spending time together, talking, sharing, and creating happy memories.
Sofia House provides support for women and children fleeing interpersonal violence. Volunteers may assist with household operations, providing administrative support, participating in fundraising events, cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe living environment for residents.
Every day, we depend on volunteers to help serve meals, support families, care for vulnerable individuals, and strengthen our neighbourhoods. Volunteer opportunities could include sorting items, stocking shelves, making sandwiches and packing bag lunches, assisting in meal preparation and kitchen tasks, organizing community events, or contributing to office administration.
We are looking for people who are committed to child safety to help us deliver these presentations in schools to Grade K – 5 students. If you’ve ever wanted your inner actor to shine, here is a chance to use your skills and create some positive change. Volunteers who are interested are provided with education about child safety and training to be a puppeteer. You will be well supported by our staff Education and Outreach person and will receive a small honorarium for each presentation you assist with. We will schedule you for presentations according to your availability, so this is ideal for university students, people who are retired, and those with flexible work schedules!
Assist with leisure activities for clients age 50+. Sessions may include health and wellness classes, yoga, field trips, etc. Workshops and class schedules vary.
Assist our Needle Exchange Coordinator at our Needle Exchange. Spaces are limited and are more available in the summer.
Promptly answer the sexual assault crisis line when a call comes through. Provide immediate emotional support to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and historical abuse, as well as any secondary victims who may call the line. Facilitate accompaniment to the hospital and police station as requested by the caller. Provide survivors the opportunity to make informed choices.
Assist with cooking and cleaning for our meal service, as well as serving meals to community members. We are always looking for passionate volunteers who are eager to support Carmichael Outreach’s mission and initiatives.
